On January 25, 2017, Central Maine Strider members gathered for food, drinks, awards, and more at The End Zone in Waterville for the club’s annual banquet. Thanks to everyone who came out. We were glad to spend time with and meet so many members. Congratulations to all of our 2016 award winners (seen below with award presenters Patrick Guerette and Alicia MacLeay). We hope to see all of you on the roads and trails in 2017. Youths of the Year Thomas Labbe for his running and racing achievements Madison Morin for her running and racing achievements Most Improved Seth Poplaski for his continued advancement in running Stephanie Friend LeBlanc for her continued advancement in running Volunteer of the Year Donnajean Pohlman for her years of assistance and support at local races Sponsor of the Year New Balance for its support of the local running community Georgiana Wright, Charitable Programs Specialist, accepted the award on behalf of New Balance. Race Director of the Year Brendan Gilpatrick for his support of local running and racing Striders of the Year (by vote of our members) Julie Millard in recognition of her running achievements Mike Brooks in recognition of his running achievements Strider Service Award Jim Moore for his contributions and years of service to the club. Jim was not present at the annual meeting to accept his award. Board Positions
On the business side of the meeting, Ron Peck (Treasurer) and Alicia MacLeay (Communications) were elected to their second two-year terms on the board. The Vice President and Secretary positions are currently unfilled. So please talk to Club President Brendan Gilpatrick if you are interested in getting involved via one of these roles. |
