Central Maine Striders is a completely volunteer-run organization and relies on its members to support the club and its mission. Currently there are several board positions open that we need to fill, Vice President and Secretary. Additionally, there are other opportunities to get involved and help move the club forward, such as by leading group runs and writing for the website and newsletter.
If you are interested in getting more involved with the club, please email us at email@example.com or come to our next monthly meeting (Wednesday, April 12, 6 p.m. at The End Zone, 38 College Ave, Waterville—please note new location).
Strider Volunteer Opportunities:
The Vice President assists the President by working with club officers, club members, and the local community to further the club's mission. The Vice President and acts as the President in his or her absence. The Vice President also helps coordinate the club's annual meeting and other social events.
The Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of all board meetings, ensuring their accuracy and availability, and keeping membership records updated, in addition to other duties.
Each club officer position is for a two-year term, with the option of one renewal.
Group Run Organizers
One of the club's top requests from members and potential members is for group runs to join. The club is looking for reliable members to lead regular, club runs in the Central Maine area. Group runs might be organized on a weekly, monthly, or other schedule and can rotate among interested leaders. Group runs should be open to all interested runners and run on a safe route or location.
Please email us or come to our next meeting if you'd like to help lead group runs this spring.
We want to share more of our members' stories and experiences with fellow Striders. Have you run, volunteered at, or directed an interesting race and can share a race report? Want to recap your top running memories? Or do you have another running-related topic in mind?
Email us with your submission idea. You could be featured on the Striders website and in a future newsletter!
